With the summer holiday approaching, safety remains a top priority. To maintain a safe and secure campus environment and ensure the safe operation of all facilities and equipment throughout the holiday period, QMES conducted a pre-summer holiday safety inspection on 17 July. Led by members of the QMES leadership and supported by heads of relevant departments, the inspection team carried out on-site checks across the school, covering offices, laboratories, lecture theatres and public areas.

Following the completion of preliminary self-inspections and corrective actions by individual departments, QMES’s Safety Management Team conducted a comprehensive safety review and made further arrangements. In response to seasonal conditions such as high temperatures and increased rainfall, and in line with established campus safety management practices, the team focused on key areas such as fire safety, laboratory safety and facility safety. Meanwhile, QMES also required the strict implementation of summer holiday duty arrangements, including leadership oversight and on-call responsibilities, to ensure a prompt and effective emergency response.

QMES called on all staff members to uphold a strong sense of responsibility, always remain vigilant and stay fully prepared to address potential risks and to jointly strengthen campus safety, ensuring a safe summer holiday for all staff and students.
